STAND AT ATTENTION, SOLDIER Vorenus is a true soldier. He is dedicated to the Republic, a staunch believer in the gods, and the laws that he serves. Though he is loyal to his friends and family, he sometimes finds himself at odds with this loyalty and his loyalty to Rome. For a small time he becomes Ceasar's bodyguard, and it is implied that Ceasar would not have fallen if Vorenus had not been tricked into leaving his side on the Ides of March. Translation? He's such a fucking badass loyal sum'bitch that the entire senate knew that he could and would take them all on if they approached Ceasar violently in his presence. DON'T FUCK WITH THE FUCKED He goes through some shit, OK. And that shit hardens him like a mofo. To the point where every little infraction against him is dealt with harshly. Take, for example, Erastes Fulmen, who he beheads for kidnapping and supposedly raping and killing his children. A head which he carries home and keeps on a shelf because it pleases him to look at it. HIS BEST FRIEND IS A GIANT Or might as well be. Titus Pullo stands about 6'5 and he's the jolly & rowdy counterpart to Vorenus' severe and orderly manner. They're Rome's very own Odd Couple and they're pretty hilarious. Pullo tries to teach Vorenus how to woo his wife and be more compassionate in his personal life and Vorenus is constantly getting Pullo out of trouble. These two fictional/non fictional characters far outdo any of the main "real" characters on the show. Except maybe Marc Antony and Atia. They're both pretty badass in their own rights. |
